I. Title Migrant Recruiter
II. Definition
Under direction of the Migrant Supervisor, to serve as a recruiter of eligible students and communicate with the migrant people in the community by broad communications activities, and to perform other job related duties as required.
III. Examples of Duties
The primary responsibility is to identify and recruit eligible students and to input recruitment data into the District terminal. Identifies and is responsible for all migrant children within the assigned schools; verifies the eligibility of migrant students identified by other school personnel; inputs migrant data into the District terminal; assists the migrant supervisor in the development of migrant District advisory committees; attends and plans inservices and workshops as scheduled by the migrant supervisor; when time allows, works with principals, teachers, and migrant education staff concerning special problems of migrant students.

A. Knowledge of:
- Problems and culture of migrant children.
B. Ability to:
- Read, write and speak English and Spanish;
- Work with groups of children and adults;
- Carry out duties without close supervision;
- Communicate migrant related problems to teachers and administrators;
- Type at a rate of 45 words per minute.
C. Education/Training/Experience:
High school diploma or its equivalent.One year of experience working with children, adult groups, and the community and one year of experience with typewriters or terminals.
D. Licenses/Certificates:
Possession of a valid California driver's license and the use of a dependable car is a continuous requirement.
