I. Title Planning Analyst
II. Definition
Under limited direction, project enrollment and plan for facilities.
III. Examples of Duties
Prepare student enrollment projections by planning units, school attendance areas, regions and district wide. Research and maintain records on vacant land usage. Track zoning on new development applications submitted to the City Planning Department through the approval process. Develop maps to provide District boundary information and street indexes. Document facility capacities and elaboratively plan for changes in enrollment. Maintain the District's address and geo code data bases. Verify staffing projections. Communicate with City and County planning departments on the impact of various developments. Provide clear, accurate information for planning purposes. Participate elaboratively in a variety of planning activities. Prepare highly detailed technical and statistical reports, assist in the development of enrollment and staffing projections, and assist in the development of statistics, materials and information for long range planning. Perform other tasks as needed.

A. Knowledge of:
- Various applications of technology including spreadsheets, word processing, data bases, graphical presentations, statistical packages and query.
- Modern office methods, practices, and procedures.

- Interface with all levels of administration, community, and public/private agencies.
- Study and interpret Education Codes, Government Codes, and District Policies and Procedures.
- Learn, interpret, and apply District rules, regulations, policies, and procedures with good judgment while independently carrying out a variety of complex tasks.
- Ability to interact with individual groups and departments in a proactive and diplomatic manner.
- Work harmoniously with staff members, government agencies and the public.
- Perform research and compile information from a wide variety of sources.
- Work under the pressure of time constraints and cope with difficult situations in a sensitive and positive manner.

C. Education/Training/Experience:
- Any combination of education, training and experience equivalent to two years of college with course work in a related field plus two years of work experience in a related field.
