I.Title: Plumber Foreman
II.Definition
Under general direction, as a working foreman, to supervise the repair, and construction work performed by maintenance personnel on school buildings and equipment; and to do related work as required.
III.Examples of Duties
Supervises district-wide program of maintenance of buildings and related facilities; inspects mechanical equipment of needed repairs and maintenance; establishes a schedule of preventive maintenance and recommends priority of repair projects; estimates labor and material costs of repair and maintenance projects; assigns craftsmen and workmen to maintenance and construction work; including rough and finished plumbing; lays out and inspects the work of mechanics; prepares reports on cost of work done, materials used, labor expended; requisitions materials as needed, interviews prospective employees and makes recommendations for changes in job assignments, assists the Director of Maintenance in the preparation of the maintenance budget; and when not performing these duties, will be required to work with tools and mechanics in the field.

A.Knowledge of: Methods, materials and equipment used in the various crafts including plumbing, heating and air conditioning work Building construction practices and laws affecting the construction and repair of school buildings.
B.Ability to: Estimate cost of repair and construction work; Prepare and read blueprints and sketches; Lay out, coordinate, supervise, and inspect the work of craftsmen; Establish cooperative working relationships with workmen, supervisors, and faculty.
C.Education/Training/Experience: Completion of 12th grade, preferably supplemented by vocational training in several of the shop and construction trades and twelve years, or more, experience as a journeyman in one of the mechanical building trades, including two years in a supervisory capacity..
D.Licenses/Certificates: Valid California Driver's License.
