Multimedia ProductionThis course is a introduction to the techniques used in the production of digital media. Digital Art plays a broad and expanding role in Visual communication and expression. Through a series of exercises applying the Elements and Principles of Art students will develop a visual vocabulary that will enable the student to develop a sense of composition and design in a variety of media. Students will gain a working knowledge of the Macintosh operating system while being introduced to a variety of current and emerging technologies and the tools used to create digital artwork. 1st semester Students will gain a working knowledge of the Macintosh operating system while being introduced to a variety of software and hardware used to create digital art. Microsoft, Adobe and Apple software applications will be explored. 2nd semester Students continue with a series of projects applying the elements and principles of design, students will develop visual literacy that will enable the student to apply composition and design to a variety of mediums. Students develop artistic skills in a variety of visual arts media. Students learn the technical processes used for digital imaging. Photoshop, Illustrator, PowerPoint, iWork and iLife will be used for projects.
