The Associated Student Body of Willow Glen High School Officers for the 2007-2008 Academic Year

President: Adryn Maldonado

As President of the ASB, my life is very busy and I love it!.  I enjoy meeting new people daily at my school which is why I make an effort to eat in a different location everyday.  I am very lucky to have a group of friends on whom I can rely, and I'm even luckier that some of them are my officers.  I am busy applying to colleges on the East Coast as I plan to move away as soon as I graduate.  I love WGHS and hope that my leadership makes a difference to the students.  I want my legacy to be one of positive events and activities that help bring the students of our school together.  I love my hair and wish everyone could have it, too.

Vice-President: Florissa Sy

My job as VP is to help out where ever I am needed.  This job requires you to take the initiative in seeing what needs to be done and doing it.  I facilitate communication between the clubs and the ASB, as well as run the Executive Council.  I am not just an ASB officer, I am also the Student Board Member for the SJUSD.  It's very exciting to be involved in the board meetings, ground breakings, press conferences and other amazing duties.  My hope for WGHS is that more students develop a sense of belonging to bring our campus together as a stronger community.

Secretary: Michael Sanchez

This is my third year in leadership. I have been from Freshman secretary to ASB Community Service. I have always been involved in my school. I played volleyball for school and for club. I also try to get involved in advanced classes. I've been know to take too much on but I love it! My job consists of taking minutes for all the ASB meeting, along with sending them to the district office.

Treasurer: Kyle Tom

As treasurere it is my responsibility to keep track of all fundraisers and the money coming in and going out!  It's a huge job, but I am more than up to the task as I love Math and some call me Rainman.  My goal in life is to write a book.  I love to read when I am not playing varisty water polo, soccer, and volleyball for the school. I am enrolled in two AP classes. Outside of school I like to play the guitar, hang out with my friends, watch movies and dream.  I hope next year as a senior that the class will become one and establish a new record of school spirit and participation.

Chief Justice: Schuyler Ross

I am an aquarius and my favorite color is magenta.  To my friends I am known as "The Boss", but my fellow officers call me "SKY"!  I live to play football, and I plan to play in college.  It is my passion and my life as I know it will lead me to great things.  Being Chief Justice is cool because I get to run all the elections and I am actively involved in all school activities and functions such as rallies and dances.  My vision of WGHS is a school that promotes academic success while still encouraging spirited participation in extra-curricular activities from sports to rallies to prom!  Go RAMS!

Public Relations: Mayra Diaz

I love playing soccer more than anything else in the world...next to spending time with mi familia.  My job as Public Relations is especially difficult for me as I am normally quite shy and quiet.  I signed up for the job to combat my fear of public speaking and it seems to be working.  I hope WGHS  students finally open their eyes wide to notice the students who are invisible so that when I come back in 5 years I'll be proud.  I want to work with others teaching them to have better nutrition and fitness, because in the long run it will help me and my future family to be healthy.  Live long and prosper.

Public Relations: Tracy Huynh

I am a senior at Willow Glen High School and I absolutely love this school! My job as public relations is to make announcements and advertise for upcoming events that are happening this year. This year, I hope to accomplish alot with my fellow ASB officers. In my free time when I am not at school or working, I like to hang out with my friends. I hope to be attending San Jose State University for the school year of 2008-2009.  I plan to study finance and make a HUGE pile of money to support me and my future family.

Historian: Hoang-Van "Van-y" Nguyen

I am a junior this year, shout out to the class of 2009.  My job consists of taking pictures of all the events that will be occuring this school year. I really love playing field hockey and badminton! Also, I enjoy long walks on the beach with my friends in my spare time. When I'm not out walking, I like to sit down and relax with my AP Chemistry book and a nice cup of hot cocoa. My dream is to attend UC Santa Barbara when I graduate. I am looking forward to working with all my fellow ASB officers to make this year the best for everyone! >.<  See you at the end of the year Rally with my slide show of everything 07-08!

Community Service: Charley Guptill

This year in ASB I have learned all about getting involved and being proactive. I also participate in theater productions throughout the year. I am super psyched for the musical. I am super excited for badminton as well! In my free time, I like eating all types of goodies as well as Jamba Juice. Ah and I love French! Looking forward to completing this year and seeing every student at WGHS meeting the Community Service requirement! :D

Dance: Evelyn Cervantes

I'm a senior this year with four AP courses and one honors, I love honors. I do water polo, soccer, and swimming, I love sports. I transferred to Willow Glen from Del Mar High my sophomore year and immediately fell in love with the school, teachers, and students. I love to talk to all kinds of people and I love to get involved in everything I can, although sometimes I get in over my head. I love this school and all my peers. I wouldn't change my high school experience for anything else in the world.

Activities: Miranda Hodges

I love to sing in the car with the stereo blaring!  I love when others around me are entertained which is why I sing in the choir, act, dance, and why I became the Activities Commissioner.  I want to make people get dressed up for no other reason than it is fun!  I think the best day ever is expending all my energy doing fun things so that I am so tired at the end of the day all I can think of is sleep!  In the next five years WGHS will become a place where everyone is as excited as I am now to get involved and participate in events and activities.  This is my dream and what I hope will be my legacy!  GO WGHS!!!  Eat, Drink and be Merry.

Outreach: Tania Rodriguez

Hola!  Yo estoy emocionada por la nueva posición que ocupo de Outreach.  Si tu hablas español, yo soy tu traductora y estaré aquí para ayudarte.  As Outreach commissioner, it is my job to make connections between the Spanish-speaking population and the ASB.  My hope is that WGHS will become the place where Spanish-speaking students feel comfortable attending and participating in activities and events.  Further, I will do everything possible to keep the information flowing and the door open for all of us who speak two or more languages.  If you have questions, you can find me in W-102 working hard for you!  Si tiennes problemas o te gustaria participar, me puedes encontrar en la clase W-102.  See you there!  Te esperaré ahí!

Homecoming: Theresa "Tess" McClendon

My daily routine involves running and running and then some running.  I am always in a hurry...I have to be in order to take 3 AP classes, run the biggest event of the school year, participate in the fall play, the community play and the spring musical (I hope:)) and apply to five out-of-state schools.  I hope to graduate and move away...absence makes the heart grow fonder.  I am proud to be a Ram and hope that all the students of WGHS look forward to coming to school each day just like me.  I wish every student would take advantage of all the amazing opportunities this school offers them.  Get out there and ask QUESTIONS!!!!!
