Castillero PTA
Welcome to Castillero’s PTA! My name is Shana Mooreand I will be serving as the PTA President for the 2009-2010 school year. I have been involved with the Castillero PTA for the past 3 years as committee chair for the Project Cornerstone parent group. My fellow board members and I are committed to supporting a calendar full of social programs that are designed to help the students of Castillero want to come to school.
Nationwide, the PTA, which is comprised of parents, teachers and administrators, works to provide the best educational experience possible for our children. To further that goal, Castillero PTA also assists teachers with needed instructional supplies and materials and supports many programs financially and/or by coordinating volunteers. The following are some of the programs supported by the PTA:
- Mix It Up Day
- Cobra Dances
- Family Fun Nights
- Book Fair |
- Staff Appreciation
- Upstander Award Program
- Student Appreciation Day |
- Character Award Lunches
- Last Blast (carnival)
- 8th Grade Promotion |
Our weekly PTA bulletin is delivered electronically via a Yahoo group email system. The bulletin is designed to keep parents informed about school events and issues that may affect students’ education. To start receiving this bulletin, please send an email to Castillero-subscribe @ yahoogroups.com.
Castillero PTA is always looking for volunteers in both large and small roles. We welcome your ideas and your help in implementing them. Please join us at our monthly meeting on the 2nd Wednesday of each month at 7:00 PM.
Feel free to contact me or any member of the PTA board if you have questions or comments concerning PTA. If you’re not sure who to ask, questions may be sent to Castillero_PTA @ yahoo.com and they will be directed to the appropriate person. I look forward to working with you to help maintain Castillero’s reputation as a great place to learn and grow.
Sincerely,
Shana Moore
