Parent Groups

Parents, Teachers, Students Association

PTSA is our Parents, Teachers, Students Association: working together to benefit our students, our teachers and our school. Parents benefit by getting to know other parents, the staff and the administration. And, we have fun working together!

What does PTSA do?
Support our Student Clubs & Programs, Fall and Spring Academic Awards, Academic Scholarships, Prom Scholarships, Senior Award Banquet, Senior Picnic, Teacher’s Welcome Back Brunch, Staff Appreciation Breakfast.....

How does PTSA accomplish all this?
Fundraise! We need your ideas and help! Work together with the teachers and staff to pull off these events! (remember...we have fun working together! The more help, the faster we get done!)

What can you do?
Join PTSA today! Fill out the membership form, attach a check and return it to the office. We meet every 3rd Thursday of the month at 6:30 p.m. This year we need you! And, bring a friend!

Welcome to San Jose High Academy’s PTSA,

Geneva Ebisu, PTSA President

Athletic and Music Booster Club

Our sports and music programs are doing well. But they will do much better if you pitch in. Join now! We meet at 7p.m. on the 3rd Thursday of every month in Room 20. We need your help with the following:

1. Income from food sales last year topped $10,000. ALL of this money went back to our programs. We need your help at the games and special events selling food.
2. We need your ideas!
3. We need help with our outreach (and advertising solicitation) to local merchants.
4. We need help with our poster sales and other special events.
5. We need someone who meets with the coaches and our athletic director, Joe Jones, to keep track of the schedules of the various sports as well as the “needs” of the coaches.
6. We need a treasurer and a membership coordinator. Join our Board!

Let’s have a GREAT Bulldog year!

School Site Council

The School Site Council (SSC) is a group of parents and school staff that has the responsibility of allocating supplemental funds received from the state under the School Improvement Program (SIP). SIP funds enable schools to improve instruction, services, school environment and organization. The law requires that schools establish School Site Councils in order to receive and spend the extra funding provided by SIP.

The SSC works with the principal and staff to develop, review and evaluate these school improvement programs. The SCC is also designed to provide increased parent involvement, understanding and improvement of the school’s educational program. If you have an interest in participating in the SSC or attending the meetings, please contact the school administration.

SELAC/DELAC

The School English Learners Advisory Council (SELAC) and the District English Learners Advisory Council (DELAC) are composed of teachers and parents whose main concerns are the welfare of students who are English language learners.

SELAC is a school-based committee whose purpose is to provide advice to the principal and staff regarding programs and services for English learners and to provide information to parents. DELAC is made up of representatives from each school’s English Learner Advisory Committee, DELAC’s role is to advise the district on programs and services for English learner students. For more information, please contact our school administration.
