Attendance Improvement Program

The focus of the Attendance Improvement Program is two-fold: to inform SJUSD families about truancy and truancy laws and to support families who are involved at any point in the truancy process.

DISTRICT ATTENDANCE LIAISONS

District Attendance Liaisons work directly with SJUSD school students and families with truancy issues. Liaisons are assigned to work at various schools between two to five days each week, and are there to support families who are involved in the truancy process at any given time.  For information regarding truancy letters, School Attendance Review Board (SARB) meeting dates and times, or District Attorney Mediation dates and times, please contact the Attendance Liaison working at your school site.

ELEMENTARY AND MIDDLE SCHOOL TRUANCY ISSUES

For elementary and middle school truancy issues and questions, please contact the Dropout Prevention (DOP) Counselor or Administrator of Attendance at your school site.

QUESTIONS REGARDING ATTENDANCE MARKS

Note that questions regarding attendance marks (excused, unexcused, illness, medical, etc.), AIM, or tardies should be directed to the appropriate school site administrator.  Attendance Liaisons cannot help with these issues.
