Moonwalk Your Way to the Galaxy on September 29th, 2017!
Our annual tradition that unites and ignites the school at the start of the school year continues in 2017 with a student-designed theme and artwork. The Walk-a-Thon is a major fundraiser that benefits ALL students at WGMS! Our goal this year is to raise $60,000, which will allow the school to continue to fund technology, field study trips, classroom and science lab supplies and much more. As students collect donations from family and friends, they can earn prizes that include a Walk-a-Thon t-shirt that can be worn as part of their uniform on Fridays, a portable device charger and lunch with Mr. Slayton! New this year is a 1st period classroom competition. The first class in each grade level wins a donut party! On the day of the Walk-a-Thon, the entire school walks together, enjoying live DJ music, fun games, and raffle prizes!

Copy the pledge envelope, fill out your company’s form and submit it!

School Site Council (SSC)
The School Site Council (SSC) is a decision-making group composed of parents, community representatives, and school staff that share the responsibility for the planning, implementation and evaluation for the School Improvement Program (SIP).
A School Site Council is required of all schools receiving school improvement funds designed to provide increased parent involvement, understanding and improvement of the school’s educational program.
The responsibilities of the School Site Council are to advise and participate in:
* Reviewing with the principal, staff, and students the implementation of the SIP program and it’s effectiveness.
* Annually reviewing the plan, establishing a new SIP budget, and making modifications to the plan if necessary.
Willow Glen Middle’s School Site Council is looking for more parents and students who would like to serve on the council. Meetings are held monthly in the faculty lounge.
