Our annual tradition that unites and ignites the school at the start of the school year continues in 2017 with a student-designed theme and artwork. The Walk-a-Thon is a major fundraiser that benefits ALL students at WGMS! Our goal this year is to raise $60,000, which will allow the school to continue to fund technology, field study trips, classroom and science lab supplies and much more. As students collect donations from family and friends, they can earn prizes that include a Walk-a-Thon t-shirt that can be worn as part of their uniform on Fridays, a portable device charger and lunch with Mr. Slayton! New this year is a 1st period classroom competition. The first class in each grade level wins a donut party! On the day of the Walk-a-Thon, the entire school walks together, enjoying live DJ music, fun games, and raffle prizes!
This event would not be possible without the help of volunteers. Help will be needed for working booths, event set up and event tear down. Please click HERE if you can help.
August 28th-September 19th: Fundraising!
September 20th: All pledge envelopes must be in the office by the end of the school day. Late envelopes are accepted, but we cannot guarantee that prizes will be available.

Matching Grant Programs:
Much of our donor income can easily be doubled. This program often includes pledges, and applies to all employees at the workplace, so check with your employer to see if they will match donations that you and your co-workers make to the Walkathon! Copy the pledge envelope, fill out your company’s form and submit it!
