Welcome to San José Unified School District!

San José Unified School District (SJUSD) has a centralized Enrollment Center, we offer Transitional Kinder (TK) through grade 12 at our schools. To enroll and attend SJUSD schools, the student(s) must be currently and continuously residing with a parent/guardian whose residence is located within the boundaries of the district. New student enrollment for the 2024-2025 school year is ongoing throughout the school year. New student enrollment for the 2025-2026 school year begins on December 2, 2024, and continues throughout the school year.

Students enrolling for the 2025-2026 school year in Kindergarten must be five years old on or before September 1 of the academic year of enrollment.

Students enrolling for the 2025-2026 for TK must be four years old on or before September 1 of the academic year of enrollment.

Residents requesting Special Education services for their 3-year-old child or older may also register.

Gather all the required documents

Before you begin the new student enrollment, it is highly recommended that you review and gather the enrollment requirements. You will need to provide a government-issued photo identification for the parent/guardian, the student’s proof of age, proof of residence, and the student’s Immunization records, along with other student documents as applicable.

Complete and submit your enrollment application online or visit us in person.

Online Enrollment: Visit go.sjusd.org/enrollonline to complete the online enrollment application and upload all required documents.

In-Person: We enroll by appointment and walk-ins. Families with appointments will be processed first, so an appointment is highly recommended. Schedule an appointment with the Enrollment Center. Bring a completed enrollment form (English | Spanish) and all required documents with you when you come to the Enrollment Center.

Note: if you are enrolling a student on behalf of a parent/guardian, the parent or guardian must complete a Consent for Enrollment form (English| Spanish) and provide a copy of their current photo identification before you can enroll the student
