Liberty Alternative School
Liberty Alternative School allows San José Unified students in grades 6-12 to receive their education through a structured, individualized independent study program. It offers alternative access to education for students who may not thrive in a traditional school setting.
All Liberty students receive support from a certificated teacher and use curriculum that has been approved by the San José Unified Board of Education. Accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC), Liberty Alternative offers both Alternative and A-G paths to graduation.
Students and families sign a master agreement, get an individualized schedule and meet their teacher before the first day of school and are expected to attend live instruction at their assigned times.
Enrollment in Liberty is by referral only. If you are interested in enrolling your student in Liberty, please reach out to your school’s administration for more information.
