Family University Fall Session set for Sat. Nov. 23

San José Unified’s Family University will host its first 2019/20 event on Saturday, November 23 at Hoover Middle School, 1635 Park Avenue, San Jose, CA from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.  “Leading Together,” the main theme for the Fall session, will discuss topics such as: School Site Council (SSC), School English Learners Advisory Committee (SELAC), Special Education programs, How to Address Bullying, How to Advocate for your child and, Navigating the Parent Portal.  Childcare (ages 3-5), activities for students TK-5th, Interpretation Services, giveaways, morning treats and lunch will also be provided.  Register at: go.sjusd.org/family/ or call 408-535-6404 ext. 14324. Additional classes and workshops are offered throughout the year by SJUSD’s Family Engagement.  These workshops are designed specifically to support parents in learning how they can best help their student.  Future Family University dates include: Winter Session/Feb. 8, 2020 and Spring Session/April 4, 2020.  Family University is free and open to all SJUSD families.
