San José Unified Recognizes Employees of the Year
San José Unified recognized the outstanding achievements of its employees during the 2018-19 school year at the district’s annual Employee Service Awards at Gunderson High School held on May 14, 2019 from 5-7 p.m.. This event recognizes the contributions of teachers as well as classified and other employees.
The following individuals were named San José Unified Employees of the Year for 2018-19:
- Herb Espiritu, Principal, Pioneer High School (District Administrator of the Year)
- Lilia Valenzuela, Operations, Field Coordinator (District Classified Employee of the Year)
- Alison Stroot, Intervention Specialist, Almaden Elementary (District Certificated Employee of the Year)
“San José Unified has an incredible team of dedicated and compassionate staff members. Our employees are motivated by the knowledge that through their sincere efforts, direction and tutelage, they can make a difference in a student’s life” said Superintendent Nancy Albarrán. “From teachers to supporting staff, they are all working together to prepare today’s students to be the thinkers, leaders, and creators of tomorrow.”
