Student Nutrition Services

At San José Unified, we believe student nutrition is a key component of a well-rounded education. We constantly strive to meet the nutritional needs of our students while ensuring our schools promote a healthy and active learning environment.

Summer Meals

San José Unified will provide breakfast and lunch at no cost to all students enrolled in a summer learning program with San José Unified.  We will also provide one meal per day at no cost to students and community members under 18 at the following schools:

If your student is attending a summer learning program with San José Unified at a school not listed above, we encourage you to complete the Free and Reduced Price Meal application which may increase our reimbursement rates from the federal program.

Free Breakfast & Lunch

For the 2021-2022 school year, all students will receive breakfast and lunch at no cost every day. Students do not need to meet eligibility standards to receive meals at no cost.

We still need household income information to maintain eligibility for supplemental state and federal funding.  Our schools qualify for approximately $25 million in supplemental funding based on household income information.  Learn more about the household income form

AP/IB Exam Discount

Students whose families complete the household income information form by August 31, 2021, will have the cost of all AP and/or IB exams for their student(s) reduced to $5. Learn more about the household income form
